PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Moshterd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Adam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Moshterd!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adam drops his hands momentarily and Moshterd takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


It looks like Robert Adam has been cut.
Moshterd scores with a jab.

Moshterd rushes Adam and presses him up against the cage.
Adam trying to stall but Moshterd improves his position.
Adam is trying to break free.
Adam is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Moshterd is keeping busy.
Adam goes for a takedown in the clinch but Moshterd prevents it.
Moshterd putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Adam in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Moshterd breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moshterd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Adam paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Moshterd changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adam shoots for a takedown but Moshterd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Moshterd closes the distance and pushes Adam back into the cage.

Moshterd gets a trip takedown into half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Moshterd is working for a submission of some sort.
Adam trying to control from the bottom.
Moshterd tries to pass to full mount but Adam defends it.

Moshterd seems to be working for a kimura but Adam defends the submission attempt.
Moshterd trying to mount his opponent but Adam defends it.

Adam tries to get to full guard but Moshterd has control of the leg.

Moshterd is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Adam is just riding it out for now. Moshterd eventually gives up the hold.
Adam is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adam wants to improve his position but Moshterd is controlling well.
Moshterd perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Adam controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Adam is trying to maintain the position but Moshterd is very close to passing his half guard.

Adam is controlling Moshterd's trapped leg to prevent Moshterd from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Robert Adam has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Adam gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Moshterd to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Adam controls Moshterd momentarily but Moshterd frees himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moshterd is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adam sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Moshterd fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Moshterd will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A punch lands to the side of Adam 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Moshterd shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Adam defends it nicely.
Robert Adam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Moshterd.

and Moshterd counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Adam is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Adam wants to get back to his feet but Moshterd is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Robert Adam.

Moshterd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horrible takedown by Moshterd or perhaps it was just good defense by Adam which made him look bad.

Moshterd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Adam looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moshterd thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Adam is looking to regain half guard here but Moshterd keeps moving and retains side control.
Adam can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Moshterd tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moshterd has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Moshterd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Moshterd tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Adam swivels and escapes.
Adam with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Moshterd to score with a decent uppercut.
We've been informed that Moshterd has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Moshterd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Adam takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Moshterd uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Adam shoots for a double leg takedown but Moshterd sprawls well. He's pushed Adam's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Moshterd lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Moshterd shoots in looking for a takedown. Adam tries to sprawl out of it but Moshterd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Adam manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Adam takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Moshterd wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Adam takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Moshterd jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Adam stuffs the takedown attempt from Moshterd. Moshterd gets slowly back to his feet.
Moshterd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Moshterd throws a right and a left that both miss.

Moshterd has Adam up against the cage in a clinch.
Adam throws a knee to the head but misses.
Adam is trying to pull guard but Moshterd has him pressed against the cage.
Moshterd has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Moshterd has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Adam after a bit of a struggle.
Moshterd has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Robert Adam's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Moshterd shoots in looking for a takedown but Adam manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Moshterd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Adam throws a series of punches but Moshterd avoids them all with ease.

Moshterd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Moshterd lands with an uppercut that bounces Adam off the cage and back into range.
Moshterd throws a combination. Adam tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Dean Moshterd is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Adam walks into a straight right hand from Moshterd.

Robert Adam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A left and a right from Moshterd both land. Nice combination.
Adam shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moshterd sprawls well. Moshterd wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Adam gets slowly back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Moshterd looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Moshterd connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Adam's hands.
Moshterd scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Moshterd scores with the left hand. Adam knows he should have avoided that one.
Moshterd ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Moshterd with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Dean Moshterd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moshterd has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
