Thompson comes into the arena with Metallica- Dont Tread on Me blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tries to land a front kick but Duncan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Duncan dives in for a single leg takedown but Thompson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Thompson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Duncan.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Duncan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Brock Thompson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Duncan.
Duncan has Thompson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Thompson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

In his post fight interview, Eddie Duncan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
