Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hosea Castaneda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hosea Castaneda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Nash! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nash shoots in and gets a takedown into Castaneda's guard. Nash is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Nash throws an elbow that misses. Castaneda uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nash's guard. Nice move by Castaneda! Castaneda is looking to stand up but Nash won't let him. Castaneda really is a fat lump. Castaneda is fighting to break Nash's control of his arms but Nash is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Steve Nash has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Nash closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Castaneda to the mat! Castaneda manages to get full guard. Castaneda keeping full guard, as Nash tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nash seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Nash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castaneda swivels though and keeps the full guard. Castaneda is trying to control the position but Nash postures up. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nash rushes Castaneda and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Castaneda tries to pull guard but Nash holds him up against the cage and eventually Castaneda drops back down to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nash gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Castaneda regains guard.
Nash wants to stand but Castaneda is controlling his posture from full guard. Nash is looking to work some ground and pound but Castaneda has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nash sitting in guard, not really doing much. Nash trying to control but Castaneda is working from the bottom. Castaneda might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Nash was stalling too much, according to the referee. A jab from Castaneda misses. Nash drives through with a takedown into Castaneda's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Nash stays in close to Castaneda's body and controls the position. Nash lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nash seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. It looks like Nash might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Steve Nash wasn't active enough on the ground. Castaneda darts in looking for a takedown but Nash gets double underhooks and turns Castaneda into the cage. Nash pulls guard effortlessly. Castaneda preventing the sweep. Nash working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Castaneda. Castaneda postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Castaneda would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Castaneda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nash is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Nash dominated that round. That's time! Castaneda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Castaneda tries a head kick but it misses.
Castaneda tries for a takedown but Nash sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nash moves into the clinch. Nash breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nash pushes Castaneda up against the cage in a clinch. Nash wants the takedown. Castaneda is fighting it off but Nash persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Castaneda's guard against the cage. Castaneda is trying to keep Nash in close.
Nash drops back looking for a leg! Castaneda is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Castaneda manages to kick Nash off! Nash jumps back into Castaneda's guard. Castaneda avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nash missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nash controls from within his opponent's guard. Nash lands a couple of elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nash is looking to stand up but Castaneda won't let him. Nash wants to control from the top but Castaneda keeps moving. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Nash wants to stand but Castaneda has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Nash was stalling too much, according to the referee. Nash throws a head kick but Castaneda moves out of range.
Castaneda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nash scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Steve Nash has got the better of the ground game so far. Nash is looking to take a break and control but Castaneda is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nash tries to advance to mount but Castaneda denies him. Nash is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nash controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Nash was stalling too much, according to the referee. Castaneda throws a head kick that misses. Nash throws a half hearted mid kick. Nash drives through with a takedown into Castaneda's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nash pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Castaneda is keeping the position for now. Nash advances to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Nash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Castaneda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nash.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Castaneda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nash defends it nicely. Castaneda fails with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Castaneda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nash moves away. Castaneda throws a series of strikes that have Nash backpedaling.
Nash shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nash stays in close to Castaneda's body and controls the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Steve Nash. Nash closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Castaneda quickly recovers to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Nash there. Nash looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Nash working Castaneda over with strikes. Nash is keen to just control but Castaneda is a slippery customer. Castaneda is looking to escape. Nash passes to full mount! Nash has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nash lands with some strikes. Nash tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Let's hope that Nash has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Nash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
