Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duncan Webster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Trish!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Webster gets caught napping as Trish dives in and scores a takedown. Webster manages to retain guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Trish won't allow Webster to get back to his feet.
Webster really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Trish stopping the sweep attempt from Webster.

Trish thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Trish pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Webster is keeping the position for now.

Webster wants to control but Trish is keeping busy.
Trish lands strikes from half guard.

Trish is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Webster has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trish content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Trish stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Webster to get to his feet.

Trish gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Webster wants to get back to striking at distance but Trish won't allow it.
Webster has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Webster tries to break the clinch but Trish is controlling the position.

Trish jumps into guard, dragging Webster to the mat.
Webster knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trish on the ground.
Webster throwing strikes from guard but Trish blocks nicely.
Trish is pulling down on Webster's head. It's preventing any offense from Webster, at least for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trish can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trish looking for a sweep. Not yet Trish, not yet.
Trish pulls Webster in close to his closed guard and prevents Webster from doing any damage or advancing position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Webster wants to stand but Trish has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Webster stopping the sweep attempt from Trish.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeff Trish was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Webster tries to sprawl but Trish drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Trish is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Webster doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Trish.

Trish is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Webster sees it coming and defends easily.
Webster tries to get to full guard but Trish has control of the leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Trish looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Trish has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Trish has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Webster defend it? Trish steps over the head and cranks it - Webster is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Trish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jeff Trish!
