Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maigonis Lupata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abou Chaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maigonis Lupata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Abou Chaker!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lupata looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chaker misses with a head kick.

Lupata moves into the clinch.

Lupata manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Chaker is stalling in the full guard.
Chaker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Chaker drops back looking for a leg! Lupata is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lupata manages to kick Chaker off! Chaker jumps back into Lupata's guard.
Lupata looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Chaker puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Lupata keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Lupata flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chaker tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Lupata tries to get to full guard but Chaker has control of the leg.
Lupata on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lupata tries to get out of the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Abou Chaker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Chaker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Lupata is looking to control Chaker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lupata avoid being mounted?

Lupata is not content to let Chaker control the position.
Lupata tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Chaker easily slips into full mount!
Chaker connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Chaker goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lupata turns into him and now he's in Chaker's guard.
Lupata stops Chaker from standing up.

Lupata loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lupata postures up in Chaker's guard and throws a big left but Chaker blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lupata accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chaker has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lupata is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Chaker.

Chaker tries to buck Lupata off but Lupata is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Lupata shoots in and bounces Chaker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lupata avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Chaker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lupata!

Lupata gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chaker regains guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lupata postures up and lands a big shot to Chaker's brow.
Chaker is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chaker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Lupata has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lupata lands a nice short elbow.

Well Lupata has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
