Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stank McCrank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mata Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mata Hughes will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stank McCrank!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mata Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

McCrank scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hughes is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCrank is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hughes has escaped the position, nice work there.

McCrank working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

McCrank tries for a kimura but Hughes is defending well.

McCrank is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hughes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hughes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

McCrank is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hughes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

McCrank wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hughes, who protects the arm well.
Hughes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McCrank could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

McCrank looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Hughes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hughes tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Hughes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McCrank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McCrank wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hughes, who protects the arm well.
Hughes manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
McCrank is breathing heavily.

Hughes is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hughes is trying to control the action in half guard but McCrank is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but McCrank is defending well.
Hughes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
McCrank wants to improve his position but Hughes is controlling well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hughes is looking to take a break and control but McCrank is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Hughes seems content to control.
McCrank is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McCrank might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hughes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hughes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
It looks like Hughes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hughes breaks from McCrank's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hughes wants to control the pace but McCrank is squirming around nicely.
McCrank sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Hughes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

McCrank is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hughes pulls his head out easily.

Hughes is taking a breather. McCrank says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but McCrank is defending well.

Hughes is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hughes is trying to control. McCrank wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hughes is pressing down on McCrank's thigh, looking to free his foot. McCrank is holding on for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hughes working over McCrank with some ground and pound. McCrank looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
McCrank on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hughes wants to control from the top but McCrank keeps moving.
McCrank looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

McCrank has his feet on Hughes's thighs here. He's pushed Hughes off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hughes screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
