Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Wes Landry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edward Teach! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Teach misses with a takedown attempt and Landry counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Teach pulls guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Landry trying to control the position from guard on top but Teach is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Landry pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Teach is keeping the position for now. Teach looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Landry is defending well. Teach quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Landry has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Teach celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
