Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Williamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williamson comes into the arena with Iggy Pop - Lust For Life blaring out of the sound system. Daniel Alkofer will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simon Williamson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Alkofer!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Darius Henderson and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williamson throws a right hand that misses
and Alkofer makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Williamson really felt that one!
Williamson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Williamson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Alkofer quickly recovers to half guard.
Alkofer tries to get to full guard but Williamson has control of the leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alkofer wants to free his trapped foot but Williamson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Williamson is not content to let Alkofer control the position.

Alkofer passes to side control.
Williamson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Williamson is looking for a sweep.
Alkofer working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Alkofer looks up at the clock and then as Williamson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alkofer smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Simon Williamson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Williamson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Williamson as Alkofer shoots in.
No joy there for Williamson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Williamson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Williamson closes the distance but Alkofer moves to the side
and Alkofer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

so Williamson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Williamson postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Alkofer covers up, he's hurt! Williamson keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Williamson and the ref steps in to end the fight! Williamson can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
