Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cory Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Alabiso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cory Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Alabiso!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alabiso drives through and clinches with Fox against the cage.
Alabiso throws a knee to the head but misses.

Fox jumps guard.
Alabiso won't allow Fox to get back to his feet.
Fox tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fox has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Alabiso is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Alabiso has picked Fox up - he's going for a ride! Alabiso dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Alabiso wants to stand up but Fox has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Alabiso working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Fox's thigh. Fox counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Fox seems keen to control Alabiso's posture.
Fox has a closed guard, preventing Alabiso from standing up.

Fox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alabiso on the ground.

Fox scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Fox could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Alabiso wants to stand but Fox is controlling the position.

Alabiso wants to get back to his feet but Fox passes into half guard.
Fox is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Alabiso is looking to escape.
Alabiso is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Fox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Alabiso with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Alabiso is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fox asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Fox stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Fox rushes Alabiso and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Fox jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alabiso walks away with a smile on his face. Fox gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alabiso has Fox pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Alabiso pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fox tumbling to the mat - Alabiso dives into Fox's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cory Fox will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Alabiso gets control of Fox's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alabiso will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Cory Fox overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fox stands and steps away. Alabiso gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fox is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Alabiso asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Fox is fighting off a takedown attempt but Alabiso is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fox to the mat. Fox regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alabiso takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fox is pulling down on Alabiso's head. It's preventing any offense from Alabiso, at least for the moment.
Alabiso wants to get up but he can't break Fox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alabiso is one step ahead there.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well Alabiso has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
