Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Ragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitesh Rafferty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rafferty comes into a darkened arena with his song building. hayden calnin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Hitesh Rafferty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mitch Ragon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hitesh Rafferty!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rafferty shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ragon pinned against the cage. Ragon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ragon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rafferty manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ragon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rafferty's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rafferty's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Rafferty goes for a double leg but Ragon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ragon continues to drive forward.
Mitch Ragon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hitesh Rafferty.

Rafferty has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ragon regains guard immediately.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ragon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rafferty is controlling him.

Rafferty tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rafferty has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rafferty remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Rafferty has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rafferty. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rafferty has Ragon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ragon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

I would just about give that final round to Hitesh Rafferty.
I think Rafferty has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Hitesh Rafferty rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
