Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Ivanovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Surgov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivanovich comes into the arena with Rammstein - Sehnsucht blaring out of the sound system. Surgov has chosen Iron Man as his entrance music. Andrei Surgov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrei Surgov! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivanovich fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Surgov to the ground. Ivanovich is now in Surgov's guard. We've been hearing good reports from Ivanovich's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Ivanovich in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Surgov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Ivanovich lands a couple of elbows. Surgov wants to sweep here but Ivanovich controlling him for the moment. Surgov is trying to control the position but Ivanovich postures up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ivanovich passes Surgov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ivanovich missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nice strikes from Ivanovich there. Surgov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ivanovich has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Surgov tries to roll over but Ivanovich keeps him under control. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ivanovich connects with a nice short shot to Surgov's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ivanovich is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Surgov! Ivanovich lands with some strikes.
Surgov is rocked! Oooooh, big shot lands for Ivanovich! Surgov is hurt baaadly! Ivanovich is firing away with more strikes - Surgov is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Ivanovich! A determined Alexander Ivanovich didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
