Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zygote Fedor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Saku Vippera!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedor tries for a takedown but Vippera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fedor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vippera moves away.

Vippera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vippera wants to control but Fedor is keeping him busy.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fedor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vippera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Vippera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fedor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vippera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close round but I would say that Zygote Fedor will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vippera shoots in and drives through. Fedor sprawls well.
Fedor blocks a head kick by Vippera.
Vippera gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fedor gets to his feet. Vippera looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fedor has control of Vippera's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vippera regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Fedor looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Fedor is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Vippera has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Vippera!

Zygote Fedor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Zygote Fedor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saku Vippera.
Vippera pushes Fedor away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Fedor gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Fedor has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Vippera is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Fedor yanks on the arm and Vippera is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Fedor.
