Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mick Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon missing with a left hand there. Ward was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nixon avoids a punch combination nicely.

Nixon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ward sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nixon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ward rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nixon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ward looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nixon feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wards jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Ward uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nixon.
Nixon moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Nixon is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ward had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Ward throws a right hand that Nixon ducks under and follows up with a left that Nixon also avoids with ease.
Nixon thuds his right hand into Ward's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Nixon moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Ward! Nixon continues to tee off on Ward, landing with a left and a right! Nixon connects with a right hand that leaves Ward sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Nixon!
