The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardon Jr circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hardon Jr counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Zoro tries to clinch up but Hardon Jr circles away and keeps his distance.

I was talking to Zoro's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hardon Jr is fighting off a takedown attempt but Zoro is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hardon Jr to the mat. Hardon Jr regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Zoro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hardon Jr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zoro has Hardon Jr in his guard.

Zoro is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hardon Jr can't fight it off and eventually Zoro manages to take the fight to the floor. Hardon Jr looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Our spies down at at Restricted area inform us that Hardon Jr has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
