Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ragnarr Jiu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Tortoise!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jiu is defended easily by Tortoise.
Tortoise leaves Jiu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jiu on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Jiu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tortoise defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ragnarr Jiu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jiu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tortoise tries to clinch but Jiu moves out of range.
Jiu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tortoise.

Tortoise has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tortoise lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jiu backwards.

Jiu takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Tortoise tries to clinch but Jiu is having none of it.

Jiu shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Tortoise is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jiu jumps into side control!
Jiu throws an elbow but Tortoise slips to the side and avoids it well.

Jiu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Tortoise is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Tortoise takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Jiu lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tortoise down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jiu advances to full mount.
Tortoise can't escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jiu cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Tortoise throws the left hand but Jiu avoids the punch easily.
Horrible takedown by Jiu or perhaps it was just good defense by Tortoise which made him look bad.
Tortoise uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jiu has time to react.
No luck for Jiu with that takedown attempt.
Jiu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tortoise sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Jiu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tortoise pinned against the cage. Tortoise gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tortoise feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jiu's calf.
Tortoise leaves Jiu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jiu gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Tortoise parries the strikes from Jiu easily there. Jiu is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Tortoise to escape.
Tortoise really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jiu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jiu tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tortoise's legs.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jiu connects with a nice short shot to Tortoise's temple.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tortoise can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Jiu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tortoise on his heels. He'll look to pass Tortoise's guard now, I'm sure.
Ragnarr Jiu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jiu is working Tortoise over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Thomas Tortoise has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jiu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jiu is trying to control the action in half guard but Tortoise is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jiu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tortoise is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jiu scores with a couple of nice shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jiu looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tortoise with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ragnarr Jiu showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jiu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
