Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elmo David! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simon Frazier! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frazier drives through with a takedown into David's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Frazier stays in close to David's body and controls the position. David working a defensive guard here.
David can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Frazier controls the pace.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Simon Frazier hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. David misses with a head kick.
David throws a head kick but Frazier moves out of range.
Frazier avoids a low kick by using good footwork. A head kick misses from Frazier. A head kick misses from David. Frazier scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's one minute gone in the round. Frazier tries to bum rush David with a series of wild strikes but David uses good footwork to avoid the assault. David throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Frazier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
David is rocked! Frazier connects with a couple of short punches. Oh David is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Frazier wanted to stand there but David had control of the position. Frazier controlling from the top position. Frazier wants to stand but David is controlling his posture from full guard. Frazier stands up over David, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Frazier stays in close to David's body and controls the position. David controls Frazier momentarily but Frazier frees himself. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. David has momentary wrist control but Frazier slips an elbow through the middle. Frazier postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! David covers up, he's hurt! Frazier keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Frazier and the ref steps in to end the fight! Frazier can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
