Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin dives in and grabs Garcia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes down on Franklin's head and hops out.
Alex Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Franklin gets caught flat footed, as Garcia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Garcia wants to pass the guard but Franklin is keeping the position.
Franklin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Garcia with a flurry of punches that miss.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garcia tries to free his leg and advance position but Franklin is retaining full guard.

Garcia throws a strike but Franklin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Franklin won't allow Garcia to sweep him here.
Franklin wants to get up but he can't break Garcia's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Garcia has his foot on Franklin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Franklin works his way back into a safe position though.
Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Franklin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Garcia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Garcia showed some decent athleticism there.
Franklin misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Franklin wants to improve his position but Garcia is controlling well.
Garcia is controlling the pace.
Garcia is pressing down on Franklin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Franklin is holding on for now.

Garcia looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Garcia wants to stand up but Franklin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Garcia is thwarting Franklin's attempts to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Garcia takes the fight into the clinch.

Garcia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Garcia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Franklin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garcia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Garcia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Franklin is trying to buck Garcia off.

Garcia is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Franklin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Garcia stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Garcia fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Franklin to the ground. Garcia is now in Franklin's guard.
Garcia is pushing down on Franklin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Franklin is fighting to maintain full guard but Garcia has managed to sneak the leg through.
Garcia tries to pass the half guard into mount. Franklin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Garcia not landing any meaningful shots this time.
It looks like Garcia is going to stand back up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Franklin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Garcia is breathing heavily.
Garcia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Franklin wants to sweep but no luck.

Garcia passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Franklin is not content to let Garcia control the position.
Franklin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Garcia's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Franklin tries to roll over but Garcia keeps him under control.
Franklin wants to get back to his feet.
Franklin is trying to maintain the position but Garcia is very close to passing his half guard.

Franklin regains full guard. Nicely done.

Garcia has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Franklin to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Garcia is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Franklin pulls down on the head and he's put Garcia to sleep! This one is all over!
