Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cain might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to A Warrior's Call. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Cain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nixon! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nixon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cain as he avoids it easily. Cain throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Cain misses with the combination.
Nixon tries for a takedown but Cain circles away easily and Cain counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cain. Cain tries to free his leg and advance position but Nixon is retaining full guard. Cain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nixon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cain has managed to get both his arms back between Nixon's legs - danger averted. Nixon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cain can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nixon trying to keep a closed guard but Cain is proving a slippery customer.
Nixon keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully. Cain throws an elbow that misses. Nixon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cain's guard. Nice move by Nixon!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cain looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cain working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nixon. We've been hearing good reports from Cain's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Cain has his hands on Nixon's head, controlling the position. Cain looking for a guillotine here but Nixon defends easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Cain holds on and takes a little breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nixon throwing strikes but missing. Cain looking to control.
Nixon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nixon is working Cain over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Nixon trying to control but Cain is working from the bottom. Cain wants to sweep here but Nixon controlling him for the moment. Nixon landing with the ground and pound. Cain controls Nixon momentarily but Nixon frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nixon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nixon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cain tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cain keeping moving, preventing Nixon from controlling successfully. Cain is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cain is working an open guard so Nixon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cain throws a series of punches but Nixon moves out of range. Nixon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cain's waist but Cain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nixon off to one side. Mike Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Nixon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cain misses with an uppercut. Nixon saw that one coming. Cain misses with a two punch combination.
Cain takes a swing at Nixon's ribcage but misses. Cain throws a combination that misses and Nixon counters with a nice leg kick. Nixon blocks a jab. Cain connects with a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cain misses with an uppercut. Nixon fails with the takedown. Cain looks to score with a jab to the body but Nixon is just out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nixon fails with a takedown attempt. Nixon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cain. The fighters circling - Cain throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nixon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Cain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cain wants it to stay on the feet. Nixon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cain throws a right hand that Nixon ducks under and follows up with a left that Nixon also avoids with ease. Cain connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nixon's hands. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nixon. Mike Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Nixon. Cain feints and as Nixon raises his hands in defense, Cain changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nixon pulls Cain in to control the position. Cain slips nicely into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nixon is staying active underneath Cain, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nixon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cain is working away from the top position though. Nixon is not content to let Cain control the position. Nixon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Well, if Cain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cain is looking to take a break and control but Nixon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mike Cain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mike Cain has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nixon with a poor takedown and Cain counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nixon's guard now. Cain trying to control the position from guard on top but Nixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nixon swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nixon keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mike Cain. Cain misses with a looping left. Nixon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nixon with a poor takedown and Cain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. David Nixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nixon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cain tries to avoid it but Nixon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cain to the ground. Cain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cain stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cain wants it to stay on the feet. Nixon is breathing heavily. Cain waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Nixon. A big left from Cain misses. Cain throws the left hand but Nixon avoids the punch easily. Mike Cain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nixon tries for a takedown but Cain circles away easily and Cain counters with a stiff right hand. Nixon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cain avoids it really well and circles away. Cain displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nixon. Nixon shoots for a takedown but Cain saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Nixon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Nixon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cain throws a lazy right hand but Nixon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mike Cain is winning the standup battle so far. Nixon shoots in and drives through. Cain sprawls well. Cain lands a lovely overhand right. BOOM! Cain lands a beautiful left hook that drops Nixon. Nixon tries to recover but Cain is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Nixon lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Cain! A relieved looking Mike Cain thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. David Nixon was interviewed post fight and said 'You got Lucky, Rematch me and you will get your ass Knocked out'.
