Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nikolay Capriotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dc Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Capriotti comes to the cage accompanied by Immigrant Song - Karen O (feat. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikolay Capriotti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dc Gable! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Capriotti is looking to clinch. Capriotti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gable was well out of range. Poor timing from Capriotti. Gable thows a body shot but no joy. Nice jab there from Capriotti. We've been hearing reports that Capriotti has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Capriotti with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gable darts in and clinches Capriotti up against the cage. Gable tries to throw a body punch but Capriotti avoids it by throwing Gable back against the cage. Gable misses with the head strike.

Gable gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Gable manages to break the clinch.
Gable cracks Capriotti with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Nice jab there from Capriotti. Gable moves into range and connects with a jab. Gable throws out a powerful jab. Capriotti moves to clinch but Gable breaks away and Gable makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Gable has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Capriotti gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Capriotti fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gable to the ground. Capriotti is now in Gable's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Gable managing to control the position. Capriotti cracks Gable with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Capriotti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gable swivels though and keeps the full guard. Capriotti throws a big elbow that misses. Gable working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Capriotti. Capriotti wants to pass the guard but Gable is keeping the position. Gable has control of Capriotti's left arm, preventing Capriotti from doing any damage. Capriotti postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gable is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Capriotti, into his guard. Gable must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gable postures up in Capriotti's guard and throws a big left but Capriotti blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gable has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Capriotti is proving hard to escape from. Capriotti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Capriotti is looking for a triangle but Gable pushes his legs off easily.
Gable missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gable trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gable preventing the sweep. Gable passes easily into side control. Nice work. Capriotti is looking for a sweep. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Gable wants to stand but Capriotti has his arm trapped.

Gable wants to stand but Capriotti is controlling his arm. Gable is looking to take a break and control but Capriotti is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gable tries to stand but Capriotti is controlling his head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Capriotti manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dc Gable will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gable looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gable! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Capriotti is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Capriotti is working hard here to advance position.

Gable wants to control but Capriotti is keeping him busy. Gable wants to stand but Capriotti has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Gable wants to stand but Capriotti has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Capriotti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gable can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dc Gable. Capriotti lands with a right hand. Gable throws a hook but Capriotti blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Capriotti takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Capriotti uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gable.
A telegraphed right hand from Gable misses the target. Gable throws a leg kick and Capriotti counters with a nice double leg into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gable controls Capriotti momentarily but Capriotti frees himself. Capriotti drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gable dives on top into guard. Gable sitting in guard, not really doing much. Nikolay Capriotti overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gable wants to get up but he can't break Capriotti's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Capriotti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gable doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gable manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Nikolay Capriotti will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Capriotti is looking for a kimura but Gable is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Capriotti to get the leverage. Capriotti is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gable is just riding it out for now. Capriotti eventually gives up the hold. Gable is trying to control but Capriotti passes into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Capriotti thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Capriotti goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gable rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Capriotti's guard! Nice work there by Gable! Capriotti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gable gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gable slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gable steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Capriotti. Capriotti takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Gable connects with a body shot that sends Capriotti's belly button to the back. Capriotti pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gable blocks a low kick nicely. Gable lands a nice shot that snaps Capriotti's head back.
Dc Gable is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gable throws a lazy right hand but Capriotti sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Capriotti takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gable misses with a left hand so Capriotti counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gable trying to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nikolay Capriotti. I think Capriotti has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
