Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Spark Boro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 18 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julius Steel! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel swinging wildly here.
Boro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Steel at a distance.
Boro moves forwards but Steel connects with a nice, crisp jab. No joy there for Steel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Steel lands with an overhand left. Julius Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steel slips a jab from Boro. Steel misses with a wild body shot. A nice combination there by Steel.
Boro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Steel misses with a low kick as Boro jumps back. Boro throws a head kick but Steel moves out of range.
We've been told by Boro's head coaches at Pahuyuth Muay Thai 12 elite coaches that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Boro moves forwards but Steel connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boro walks into a stiff left hand from Steel.
It looks like Spark Boro has been cut. Steel tries a head kick but it misses.
Steel connects with a high kick.
Boro is rocked! Steel throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Oh Boro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! A looping hook to the body misses from Steel. Boro does a little dance to reset his feet. Steel walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Boro drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Steel swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Boro's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Julius Steel! After winning the bout, Julius Steel thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
