Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duey Doubleg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ashot Khachatryan! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khachatryan misses with a series of wild punches.
Khachatryan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Doubleg fails with the takedown and Khachatryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Khachatryan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Doubleg has his takedown stuffed and Khachatryan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Khachatryan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Khachatryan showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Doubleg has his foot on Khachatryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khachatryan works his way back into a safe position though. Khachatryan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khachatryan postures up in Doubleg's guard and throws a big left but Doubleg blocks it. Doubleg can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Khachatryan controls the pace. Khachatryan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Doubleg is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Khachatryan is aware though and is defending well. Doubleg keeping moving, preventing Khachatryan from controlling successfully. Doubleg bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Khachatryan's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khachatryan is controlling Doubleg's posture. Doubleg preventing the sweep. Khachatryan has Doubleg pulled in close to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ashot Khachatryan. Doubleg fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Duey Doubleg. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doubleg has his takedown stuffed and Khachatryan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Khachatryan. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Khachatryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Doubleg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khachatryan throwing strikes from guard but Doubleg blocks nicely. Khachatryan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Khachatryan advances position into side control! Doubleg is looking for a sweep.

Doubleg avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Khachatryan. Doubleg regains half guard, as Khachatryan was trying to land strikes. Khachatryan seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Doubleg is refusing to be controlled, as Khachatryan sits in half guard. Khachatryan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Khachatryan is working for an americana but Doubleg has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Khachatryan was thinking about the submission. Khachatryan tries to free his leg and advance position but Doubleg is retaining full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khachatryan throws a big elbow that misses. Khachatryan looking to control the position here, rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ashot Khachatryan dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Doubleg takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Khachatryan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Khachatryan lands in his opponent's guard. Khachatryan advances position into side control! Doubleg is trying to control Khachatryan's posture but Khachatryan avoids it. Khachatryan controls the position from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doubleg is not content to let Khachatryan control the position. Khachatryan working the ground and pound. Check out the look on Khachatryan's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Doubleg is being controlled here. Khachatryan connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Doubleg some visible discomfort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khachatryan tries to move to full mount but Doubleg actually manages to regain half guard. Doubleg looking for submissions off his back. Khachatryan prevents Doubleg from improving his position. Doubleg is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Khachatryan scores with a couple of nice shots. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Doubleg is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Khachatryan throwing shots but Doubleg is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doubleg is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Khachatryan stalling. Khachatryan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Khachatryan is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Doubleg to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Khachatryan with a nice head shot there. Doubleg seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Doubleg throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Doubleg preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Doubleg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Khachatryan is one step ahead there. Khachatryan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khachatryan lands a couple of decent looking shots. Doubleg looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Khachatryan won't allow Doubleg to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ashot Khachatryan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Khachatryan works his foot free and advances to mount. Khachatryan controlling his opponent. Duey Doubleg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Khachatryan tries to control but Doubleg wriggling away. Khachatryan controlling from mount. Khachatryan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Doubleg is in a horrible position here. Khachatryan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khachatryan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Khachatryan breaks from Doubleg's wrist control and lands an elbow. A nice elbow there by Khachatryan. Khachatryan controlling his opponent. Khachatryan lands a nice shot to the head. Ashot Khachatryan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khachatryan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Doubleg can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Khachatryan scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Khachatryan with shots to the head and body - Doubleg looks very uncomfortable down there. Khachatryan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Doubleg is looking to escape. Ashot Khachatryan has got the better of the ground game so far. Khachatryan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Doubleg's face.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khachatryan controlling the position easily from mount. Doubleg working to try and regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ashot Khachatryan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Khachatryan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
