Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Davidson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Doe! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doe misses with a looping right. Doe misses with a looping left. Davidson rushes Doe and presses him up against the cage. Doe lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Doe is trying to control. Davidson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Davidson is trying to maintain the position but Doe is very close to passing his half guard. Davidson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Doe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Davidson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Doe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Doe stalling away here and it's allowed Davidson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Doe throws a strike but Davidson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Davidson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doe throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Davidson is stalling in the full guard. Doe looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Doe looking for a sweep. Not yet Doe, not yet. Doe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Davidson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Davidson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Doe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Davidson defending well though. Davidson is staying active underneath Doe, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Doe stalling away here and it's allowed Davidson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Doe tries to free his leg and advance position but Davidson is retaining full guard. Doe postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Davidson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doe wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving. Davidson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Davidson is proving hard to escape from. Davidson working a defensive guard here.
Doe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bruce Davidson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Doe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Davidson's head backwards. Doe misses the shot to the body. Doe's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Doe duly obliges.
It looks like Bruce Davidson has been cut. John Doe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Davidson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Doe.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davidson shoots in for a double leg but Doe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Davidson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doe but Doe pushes him off and we're back to square one. Davidson is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davidson takes one to the chin there. Davidson slips a jab from Doe. Decent striking displayed by Doe there. Doe Rushes Davidson and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Davidson is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Doe Piles on the pressure and Davidson crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
