Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simon Adebesi!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight tries to clinch up but Adebesi circles away and keeps his distance.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adebesi as he avoids it easily.
Adebesi tries to keep at a distance but Knight has taken the fight into the clinch.
Adebesi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A punch combination from Adebesi misses.
Knight walks into a jab.
Nice body punch from Adebesi.
Knight gets a clinch.
Knight stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Adebesi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Knight is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adebesi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Adebesi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Knight takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Adebesi throws a nice looking combination but Knight bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Adebesi scores with a nice head shot.
Adebesi drops Knight with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Knight looks back up at him and smiles so Adebesi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Knight is rocked!
Adebesi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oh Knight is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Adebesi as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Knight. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Adebesi moves out of range of the body kick from Knight.
Adebesi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Knight seems to have got his legs back now.
Adebesi drops Knight with a beautiful combination! Knight stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Adebesi is looking for the KO!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adebesi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Knight drops his hands for a split second and Adebesi immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Knight face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Adebesi follows up with a right hand that knocks Knight into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Simon Adebesi!
