Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damon Pierce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Ngo!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Topper Green and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierce tries to avoid it but Ngo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierce to the ground. Pierce escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pierce tries to keep at a distance but Ngo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ngo breaks from the clinch.
Pierce lands a nice shot to the body.
Ngo doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Pierce counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pierce moves into full mount! Ngo won't be happy about that!
Pierce connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


It looks like Henry Ngo has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pierce moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ngo has worked his arm free - good work by Ngo!
Check out the look on Pierce's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Pierce slows the pace down.
Pierce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You can see the frustration on Ngo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pierce wants to control but Ngo is keeping him busy.
Ngo is looking for a sweep.
Pierce scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ngo to see if he's OK.
Pierce working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ngo tries to buck Pierce off but Pierce is having none of it.
Ngo told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Pierce wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ngo keeps working.
Pierce looking to control but instead Ngo has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Pierce is trying to control. Ngo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pierce prevents Ngo from standing back up.
Pierce thows a huge punch but Ngo dodges it nicely.

Pierce is working for a kimura but Ngo is defending it quite comfortably.
Pierce prevents Ngo from improving his position.
Pierce is controlling the pace.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ngo is not content to let Pierce control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pierce scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Ngo trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Pierce manages to pass to mount!
Pierce tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ngo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Ngo tries to lock up and control but Pierce gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pierce lands a nice shot to the head.
Pierce scores with a couple of good head shots there.


That has opened up Henry Ngo's cut even more.
Ngo tries to reverse the position but Pierce maintains control.
Pierce pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ngo is in a horrible position here. Pierce smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Henry Ngo's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Pierce wants to control the pace but Ngo is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pierce raining down shots from the mount!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Henry Ngo's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Damon Pierce!
Damon Pierce was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
