Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rubin Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake The (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hurricane. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rubin Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jake The! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The throws a quick inside leg kick. The slips under a jab from Carter. Carter lands a jab. Carter misses with an uppercut. The saw that one coming. Carter scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Carter lands with an overhand left. Carter jabs The right on the nose. The blinks but takes it well. Carter moves into the clinch successfully.
The has Carter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Carter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. The lands an elbow that stopped Carter in his tracks for a moment. This has been an exciting period of action! Carter stalling in the clinch but The improves position. The is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Carter looking to stall.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The moves out of range of the body kick from Carter.

Rubin Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. The sees it coming and avoids it easily. The gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter is trying to maintain a safe position but The gets an underhook and turns Carter into the cage. Carter lands on the inside with an uppercut. Carter tries to stall but The uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The is trying desperately to land a takedown but Carter is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for The. The has clasped his hands together around Carter's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Carter sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Carter is looking to control The's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carter avoid being mounted? Carter is controlling The's position as best he can from this difficult position. Well, if The is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The wants to advance to full mount but Carter doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. The postures up and lands a big shot to Carter's brow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom. The passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rubin Carter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A decent looking cross lands there for Carter. Carter lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Carter throws a head kick that misses. The tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rubin Carter is winning the standup battle so far. Carter blocks a leg kick. Carter tries to grapple but his opponent circles and The counters with a flying knee. Nice. The throws a half hearted mid kick. The blocks a leg kick. The moves out of range as Carter throws a body kick.
An inside leg kick from The misses. Carter throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. This has been an exciting period of action! The fails with a takedown attempt. The wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.

The digs a right hand into Carter's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Carter's gas tank. Carter dodges an elbow strike from The.
The referee is keeping an eye on Carter - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carter is trying to control the position but The postures up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carter is not in a great position here, taking some shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carter is looking for a sweep. The working the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake The showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Carter is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carter tries to clinch up but The circles away and keeps his distance. Carter rushes The and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The looking to throw knees to the head but Carter is blocking nicely.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, The just misses with a elbow thrown towards Carter's brow. Both fighters working to control the clinch. The breaks from the clinch.
The takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily. Carter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A slapping leg kick lands for Carter.

and The counters with a leg kick. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Carter here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. The walks into a left hand. A left lands for Carter. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from The. Carter moves in looking to clinch but The pushes him off. Carter lands a high kick!
Carter throws the left hand but The avoids the punch easily. The ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carter moves away. Jake The is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice sprawl there from Carter as The shoots in. Carter wants to clinch up but The keeps it at a distance. The tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance. Carter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A good leg kick by Carter. The tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The tries to keep at a distance but Carter has taken the fight into the clinch. Carter scores with an uppercut up the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The pulls guard successfully.

The looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Carter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Carter wants to take a breather but The is having none of it. Carter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Rubin Carter just wasn't active enough. The scores with a takedown into Carter's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The is looking to pass into half guard but Carter pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Carter is in guard. The is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
