Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Cena!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Cook!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook throws a nice looking combination but Cena bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cook gets tackled into the cage by Cena. Cena maintains the clinch.

Cena tightens his grip and picks Cook up, before dumping him to the ground. Cook manages to land in guard.
Cook lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cena!
Cena really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cook wants to control the pace but Cena is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cook looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Cena tries to reverse the position but Cook maintains control.

Cook thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Cook looking for a guillotine from mount but Cena is having none of it.

Cook is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cena has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cena!
Cena controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cook has a closed guard, preventing Cena from standing up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cook is trying to keep Cena in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cook darts in looking for a takedown but Cena gets double underhooks and turns Cook into the cage.
Cena has Cook pressed against the cage.
Cena throws an elbow that misses.
Cena misses with an elbow over the top.
Cook is trying to pull guard but Cena turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Cook blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cena throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Cook jumps guard.
Cook trying to control the position.
Cook wants to stand but Cena is controlling the position.
Cook looks winded!
Cena seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cook throws an off balance right hand
and Cena counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cook's knee momentarily.

Cena closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cena tries a knee to the head but Cook blocks it.
Cook looking for a takedown.
Cook is working for takedown but Cena is calmly controlling the position for now.

Cena pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cena slaps away a takedown attempt from Cook, before circling back to the center of the mat.
John Cena has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Cook.
Cena pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cook back to the cage. Cena follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like John Cook has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cena tries to clinch but Cook moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Cook.
Cena avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cook is breathing heavily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cook sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cena is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Cena is not content to let Cook control the position.

John Cook comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cook has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
