Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Constantin Galca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Galca comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DJ Rolando - Jaguar kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Galca to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hess is controlling Galca's posture.
Hess bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Galca's guard.
Galca is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steve Hess wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hess tries to sprawl but Galca drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Galca forces his way into half guard.
Galca lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Galca content to control rather than advance.

Hess makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hess.
Hess is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hess looking to hit a scissor sweep but Galca is one step ahead there.

Galca throws a big right hand that misses.
Hess not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hess had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Galca defends it easily.
Hess is breathing heavily.

Galca wants to get up but he can't break Hess's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Hess will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hess gets caught napping as Galca dives in and scores a takedown. Hess manages to retain guard.

Hess throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Galca accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hess manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Galca manages to get himself to full guard.
Hess engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hess postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Galca is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hess has his hands clasped together but Galca extends and breaks Hess's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Galca.
