The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sternsgough shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Astakhov as he jumps to the side.
Sternsgough tries for a takedown but Astakhov circles away easily
so Astakhov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Astakhov wanted to stand there but Sternsgough had control of the position.
Sternsgough looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sternsgough can do anything to dispel that myth.
