Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Damian Grabowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leonid Spartak! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grabowski dodges the punch combination from Spartak.
Grabowski looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Grabowski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spartak's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Spartak is controlling Grabowski's posture. Grabowski controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Spartak has control of Grabowski's left arm, preventing Grabowski from doing any damage. Grabowski wants to control from the top but Spartak keeps moving.
We're going to have a standup here because Damian Grabowski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Spartak darts in and clinches Grabowski up against the cage. Spartak pulls guard. Grabowski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Spartak is trying to control the position but Grabowski postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spartak is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Spartak keeping moving, preventing Grabowski from controlling successfully. Grabowski is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Spartak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Spartak looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Spartak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grabowski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Spartak is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grabowski is controlling him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Damian Grabowski. Spartak moves into range and clinches up with Grabowski. Grabowski working hard to break the clinch.

Grabowski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Spartak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Spartak keeping moving, preventing Grabowski from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spartak looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Leonid Spartak was stalling too much, according to the referee. Grabowski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Spartak to the mat! Spartak manages to get full guard. Grabowski trying to control but Spartak is working from the bottom. Grabowski preventing the sweep. Spartak is looking to sweep but instead, Grabowski has passed into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spartak can do anything to dispel that myth. Grabowski prevents Spartak from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grabowski not landing any meaningful shots this time. Spartak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Grabowski is working away from the top position though. Spartak looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Grabowski is looking for a kimura but Spartak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Grabowski to get the leverage. Spartak wants to control but Grabowski is keeping busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spartak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Spartak wants to get back to his feet.

Leonid Spartak dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Spartak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grabowski's waist but Grabowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spartak off to one side. Spartak drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Spartak wants to get up but he can't break Grabowski's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Spartak sitting in guard here, content to control. Grabowski tries to land a sweep but no joy. Spartak's corner is telling him to maintain position. Grabowski trying to control the position.
Spartak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Leonid Spartak. Spartak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Spartak lands in his opponent's guard. Spartak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spartak missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Grabowski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spartak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Spartak wants to control from the top but Grabowski keeps moving. Spartak content to stall in guard here. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Spartak passes easily into side control. Nice work. Spartak slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grabowski is looking to regain half guard here but Spartak keeps moving and retains side control. Spartak wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Grabowski, who protects the arm well. Grabowski tries to control but Spartak manages to take his back. Grabowski wants to escape the position.
A lull in the action here.
Spartak has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Grabowski's body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Spartak connects with a big shot to the side of Grabowski's head.
Grabowski looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Grabowski is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grabowski covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Spartak controlling from the back. Spartak is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Spartak gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Spartak gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Spartak apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Grabowski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Spartak tries to get to full guard but Grabowski has control of the leg. Grabowski is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Spartak keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Spartak is not content to let Grabowski control the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grabowski is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Spartak sees it coming and defends easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spartak moves into full guard.

Leonid Spartak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Spartak shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Spartak slips under a jab. Spartak gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Spartak lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Grabowski tries to circle away but Spartak has him pinned against the cage. Spartak holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Spartak has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Grabowski clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Spartak connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Grabowski to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spartak is working the ground and pound. Can Grabowski escape? Spartak patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Will Spartak go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Spartak slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Spartak has Grabowski flattened out and is raining down punches. Spartak is hanging on to Grabowski's back as he tries to escape.

Spartak is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Grabowski has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Spartak is persistently looking for the submission but Grabowski is defending it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Grabowski is trying to stand back up. Grabowski tries to roll but Spartak sticks to his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grabowski is working hard here to advance position. Spartak wants to control but Grabowski is keeping busy. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Spartak tries to get the hooks in deep but Grabowski pushed the leg off. Spartak is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Spartak is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spartak just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

And that's the end of the fight! Leonid Spartak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Spartak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
