PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wolf Flow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rayvan Marenia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Flow might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rich homie quan- difference. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wolf Flow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rayvan Marenia!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marenia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marenia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Flow moves out of range of the leg kick from Marenia.
Marenia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flow as he avoids it easily.

Marenia clinches.
Flow wants to get back to striking at distance but Marenia won't allow it.
Marenia just leaning against Flow, taking a breather.
Marenia wants to break free but Flow has control.
Marenia fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wolf Flow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rayvan Marenia.

Marenia has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Flow regains guard immediately.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marenia controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Flow will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Flow scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Marenia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Flow but Flow pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Flow moves out of range of the leg kick from Marenia.
Marenia doesn't manage to clinch there - Flow circles away.

Marenia shoots in and bounces Flow off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marenia throws a big right hand that misses.
Marenia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Marenia might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rayvan Marenia.
Marenia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Flow sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marenia somewhat.
Marenia is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Marenia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Marenia is working for a kimura but Flow is defending it quite comfortably.
Marenia controlling the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rayvan Marenia dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Flow ducks under a wild hook from Marenia.
Marenia swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Flow counters with a single leg into guard. Marenia didn't expect that.

Marenia is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Marenia pulls Flow in close to his closed guard and prevents Flow from doing any damage or advancing position.
Marenia trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marenia is pulling down on Flow's head to control his posture.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Marenia dives in for a single leg takedown but Flow sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Flow keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Marenia's efforts to push away.

Flow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Marenia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flow's waist but Flow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marenia off to one side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marenia shoots in looking for a takedown but Flow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marenia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wolf Flow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rayvan Marenia.

Marenia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marenia showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Marenia trying to control the pace.
Marenia tries to pass to full mount but Flow defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Marenia is working for a kimura but Flow is defending it quite comfortably.
Marenia wants to pass the guard but Flow is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marenia stops Flow from getting back to his feet.
Flow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Marenia decides to return to a standing position.
Marenia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marenia misses with a takedown attempt - Flow sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rayvan Marenia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Marenia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Flow is fending him off so far but Marenia persists. Nope, Flow circles away and we're back to standing.
Wolf Flow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Marenia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flow paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Flow stuffs the takedown.
Marenia dives in and grabs Flow's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flow pushes down on Marenia's head and hops out.
Wolf Flow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rayvan Marenia.
Flow leaves Marenia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Marenia closes the distance and clinches up with Flow, looking for a takedown. Marenia pushes Flow against the cage but Flow circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Marenia misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marenia shoots in and drives through. Flow sprawls well.
Marenia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Marenia tries to clinch but Flow is having none of it.
Marenia has his takedown stuffed

and Flow counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Marenia has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Flow is working away from the top position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marenia trying to get back to full guard but Flow takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Flow wants to get back to his feet but Marenia is holding on tight.
Marenia can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marenia is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Wolf Flow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Marenia is trying desperately to improve position.
Marenia wants to control but Flow is having none of it.
Marenia regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marenia is looking to control Flow's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Marenia avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wolf Flow wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Marenia fails with the takedown.

Marenia moves into range and clinches up with Flow.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Rayvan Marenia.
Well Marenia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
