The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Mendes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mendes working away.
Singer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mendes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mendes slows the pace down.
Singer is trying to improve his position.
Singer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mendes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Singer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mendes feints and as Singer raises his hands in defense, Mendes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mendes has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Singer to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mendes is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Singer pulls down on the head and he's put Mendes to sleep! This one is all over!
