Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Slate! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babanov rushes Slate and presses him up against the cage. Slate is trying to break the clinch but Babanov is controlling him. Slate wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Slate pulls guard successfully.
Slate looking for a sweep. Not yet Slate, not yet. Babanov wants to pass the guard but Slate is keeping the position. Babanov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Slate works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Babanov pushes down on Slate's leg and manages to get into half guard. Babanov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. We've been hearing that Babanov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Slate swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Slate has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Slate is looking to land body kicks. Babanov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Slate. Slate darts in and clinches Babanov up against the cage. Slate using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Babanov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Slate looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Babanov lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Babanov not landing any meaningful shots this time. Slate wants to control but Babanov is keeping busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Adam Slate. Slate throws a leg kick and Babanov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Babanov has gone for a leg lock! Slate slips out almost immediately though and dives into Babanov's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Ali Babanov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Babanov has a takedown stuffed. Babanov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Slate was covering up waiting for the punch and Babanov finishes the takedown easily into guard. Slate utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Babanov is looking to work some ground and pound but Slate has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slate tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Babanov defends well and Slate ends up having to push Babanov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Babanov lands an elbow just above Slate 's eye. Slate tries to land a knee to the head but Babanov blocks with his arms.

That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Slate's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Babanov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Slate some visible discomfort.

Slate pushes Babanov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Babanov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. That's three minutes gone in the round. Babanov trying to control the pace. Babanov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slate with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Babanov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Babanov missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Babanov is looking to stall here but Slate recovers full guard. Slate controls Babanov momentarily but Babanov frees himself. Babanov cracks Slate with a solid left hand.

Is there anything that Slate can do to turn this around? Babanov scoring with some ground and pound. Slate is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Babanov with a flurry of punches that miss. Slate wants to stand up but Babanov is controlling him. Adam Slate has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ali Babanov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Slate doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Ali Babanov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Babanov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
