Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Staggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tedja Ranu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ranu comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Marabahaya - Saint Loco ft. Project E.A.R kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Reggie Staggs has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Staggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tedja Ranu! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Staggs with that takedown attempt. Staggs uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ranu.
Staggs tries to clinch there but Ranu circles away.
Ranu misses with a body kick. Ranu fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Staggs, pushing him back against the cage. Staggs stalling against the cage.
Ranu jumps guard but Staggs turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Ranu tries to pull guard but Staggs forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Staggs successfully pulls guard.
Ranu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ranu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Staggs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ranu is one step ahead there. Ranu throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Staggs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Staggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ranu trying to control the position from guard on top but Staggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Staggs looking for a guillotine here but Ranu defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ranu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Staggs avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ranu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ranu postures up in Staggs's guard and throws a big left but Staggs blocks it. Staggs wants to get back to his feet but Ranu is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ranu stands up and waves to Staggs to follow him. Ranu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Staggs as he jumps to the side. Reggie Staggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tedja Ranu. Staggs fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ranu tries to clinch but Staggs moves away and Staggs counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ranu takes a shot right to the bread basket. Ranu throws a head kick that misses and Staggs counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Staggs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Staggs has Ranu pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ranu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ranu prevents the takedown attempt.
Staggs looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Staggs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Staggs rushes Ranu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Staggs goes for a takedown attempt but Ranu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ranu looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ranu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Staggs counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Staggs slips a jab and a cross from Ranu.
Staggs swats away the attempt to clinch by Ranu. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Staggs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ranu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ranu can't do much from the bottom here. Ranu tries to bench press Staggs off him but Staggs keeps the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Staggs grinds an elbow into Ranu's temple. Staggs decides to stand back up. Staggs steps back and let's Ranu get back to his feet. Staggs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Staggs wants it to stay on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Reggie Staggs will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ranu takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Staggs tries to clinch there but Ranu circles away.
Staggs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ranu swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ranu throws a head kick but Staggs moves out of range.

Staggs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ranu as he avoids it easily. Ranu throws a head kick that misses so Staggs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Staggs won't allow Ranu to get back to his feet. Staggs wants to control from the top but Ranu keeps moving. Ranu trying to keep a closed guard but Staggs is proving a slippery customer.
Staggs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ranu is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Staggs trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Ranu working for a triangle but Staggs defends it easily.

Staggs is looking to work some ground and pound but Ranu has wrist control. Ranu is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ranu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staggs gets to his feet - Ranu follows without any prompting. Ranu thuds a left hand into Staggs's body. Staggs connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ranu momentarily.

Ranu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Staggs is defended easily by Ranu. Staggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ranu moves away. Staggs tries to clinch there but Ranu circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ranu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ranu tries to clinch but Staggs is having none of it. Staggs lands with an overhand left. Ranu scores with the left hand. Staggs knows he should have avoided that one. Staggs looks to land a body kick but Ranu moved away. Ranu throws a nice looking combination but Staggs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Staggs fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ranu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Staggs but Staggs pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ranu is breathing heavily. Staggs fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ranu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ranu wants it to stay on the feet. Ranu keeps the fight on the outside. Ranu doesn't manage to clinch there - Staggs circles away.

Staggs slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Ranu moves in looking to clinch but Staggs pushes him off. Ranu just misses with a punch to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action! Ranu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ranu tries a head kick but it misses.
Staggs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ranu is fending him off so far but Staggs persists. Nope, Ranu circles away and we're back to standing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Staggs takes a swing at Ranu's ribcage but misses. Staggs moves into the clinch. Ranu throws a head punch that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reggie Staggs dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Reggie Staggs. Ranu cracks the inside of Staggs's front leg. Ranu is looking to clinch but Staggs is avoiding it.
Nice sprawl there from Ranu as Staggs shoots in. Staggs gets tackled into the cage by Ranu. Ranu maintains the clinch. Ranu fails to pull the fight into his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ranu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Staggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Staggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Staggs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tedja Ranu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reggie Staggs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Staggs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Reggie Staggs showed his dominance in that final round. Well Staggs has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
