Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Niko Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNulty has chosen Stranglehold - Ted Nugent as his entrance music. Niko Jokinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Niko Jokinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mac McNulty! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McNulty throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jokinen with a lazy takedown attempt and McNulty counters with a one-two to the body. Jokinen moves forwards but McNulty connects with a nice, crisp jab. No joy there for McNulty, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jokinen misses with a takedown and McNulty counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McNulty. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. McNulty is looking to work some ground and pound but Jokinen has wrist control. Jokinen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jokinen holds on and takes a little breather. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McNulty wants to control from the top but Jokinen keeps moving. McNulty won't allow Jokinen to get back to his feet. McNulty throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jokinen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jokinen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McNulty is aware though and is defending well. McNulty has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNulty trying to control but Jokinen is working from the bottom. McNulty postures up in Jokinen's guard and throws a big left but Jokinen blocks it. McNulty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jokinen swivels though and keeps the full guard. McNulty won't allow Jokinen to sweep him here. McNulty is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Let's hope that McNulty has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mac McNulty hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A punch combination from McNulty misses. McNulty lands with a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jokinen tries to clinch but McNulty moves out of range. McNulty throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jokinen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McNulty is in Jokinen's guard. McNulty with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jokinen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McNulty slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jokinen keeping moving, preventing McNulty from controlling successfully. Jokinen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jokinen tries to get out of the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McNulty throwing strikes but missing. McNulty throws a big elbow that misses. My spies in Cylon Training Academy(150/week) inform me that McNulty has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! McNulty scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jokinen controlling the position.

McNulty postures up and lands a big shot to Jokinen's brow. McNulty trying to control but Jokinen is working from the bottom. McNulty postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. McNulty throws an elbow that misses. Jokinen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McNulty's guard. Nice move by Jokinen! Jokinen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. McNulty wants to sweep here but Jokinen controlling him for the moment. McNulty throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

McNulty might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jokinen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNulty lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jokinen! McNulty wants to control the pace but Jokinen is squirming around nicely. McNulty lands a big elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jokinen is looking to improve his position but McNulty isn't that keen on the idea. McNulty lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McNulty scoring with strikes but Jokinen is staying in there. McNulty cracks Jokinen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

No luck for Jokinen with that takedown attempt. Jokinen is trying hard to land a takedown here. McNulty sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jokinen fails with the takedown and McNulty counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Niko Jokinen. That's going to take a lot out of him. McNulty seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Jokinen won't allow McNulty to pass to mount. McNulty thows a huge punch but Jokinen dodges it nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jokinen enables McNulty to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jokinen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jokinen wants to sweep but no luck. McNulty is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. McNulty working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jokinen keeping moving, preventing McNulty from controlling successfully. McNulty missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Jokinen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jokinen has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but McNulty has passed into side control.

You can see the frustration on Jokinen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jokinen dodges the ground and pound from McNulty. McNulty seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jokinen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McNulty is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. McNulty tries to pass to full mount but Jokinen defends it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mac McNulty showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

McNulty is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Jokinen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McNulty. McNulty not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McNulty takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jokinen tries to regain full guard. Instead though, McNulty has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Jokinen is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

McNulty trying to control but Jokinen is having none of it. McNulty in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Niko Jokinen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mac McNulty is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
