Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Rowdy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rowdy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blindspott - Nill by Mouth. Mickey Smith is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith is looking to clinch but Rowdy is avoiding it.
Rowdy's coach down at Hate Made Me Asylum was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rowdy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rowdy can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Rowdy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Smith is trying to trip Rowdy. He has hold of a leg but Rowdy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Smith persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Smith's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
