Payne circles away from the clinch attempt
and Payne counters by clinching up.
Gabarrao wants the takedown. Payne is fighting it off but Gabarrao persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Payne's guard against the cage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gabarrao content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Payne has locked up a guillotine! Payne's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Gabarrao is holding on here and Payne must be using up a lot of energy. Gabarrao has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Payne gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
