Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Locke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mr Shadow!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Locke tries a head kick but it misses.
Shadow throws a combination that misses
and Locke counters with a head kick. That will keep Shadow thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Shadow tries to clinch but Locke moves out of range.
Locke moves in looking to clinch but Shadow pushes him off.
Locke has a takedown stuffed.
Shadow is looking to clinch but Locke is avoiding it.
Shadow throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like John Locke has been cut.
Shadow looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Shadow moves into range and clinches up with Locke.

Locke drags the fight down to the ground.

Locke pushes Shadow off and scrambles back to his feet.
Locke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shadow swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Locke looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Locke is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Locke's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Locke slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Shadow is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Locke asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Shadow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Locke stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shadow doesn't manage to clinch there - Locke circles away.
Locke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Shadow forces Locke back against the cage and clinches.

Shadow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Locke throws a lazy head kick
and Shadow counters with a leg kick.
Shadow tries a low kick but Locke avoids it.
Shadow misses with a body shot.
Locke pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Locke takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Shadow is looking to clinch.

Locke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Locke drags the fight down to the ground.
Locke is trying to control the position but Shadow postures up.

Shadow decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Locke, up you get!
Shadow wants to clinch up but Locke keeps it at a distance.
Shadow tries to clinch there but Locke circles away.
Locke lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Shadow tries to close the distance and clinch up but Locke swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mr Shadow is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Locke circles away from the clinch attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shadow. Locke does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shadow doesn't manage to clinch there - Locke circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Locke keeps the fight on the outside.
Locke has his takedown stuffed
and Shadow counters with a good low kick that Locke was not able to check.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Locke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shadow throws a sloppy head kick and Locke moves out of range easily.
Shadow lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Locke circles away quickly and effectively.
Locke has a takedown stuffed.
Locke is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shadow with a hook.

Shadow moves into the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shadow is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Locke to keep the fight standing.
Shadow fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Locke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Locke will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John Locke's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Locke shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shadow is trying to defend but Locke finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shadow is trying to stand up here but Locke is controlling him well.
Locke winds up and cracks Shadow with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Locke is taking a breather. Shadow says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Shadow is looking to escape.
Locke content to control rather than advance.

Locke seems to be working for a kimura but Shadow defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Locke sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Locke decides to stand and escape the position.
Locke on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shadow. Shadow obviously looking to wear him down.
Locke keeps the fight on the outside.
Locke moves in looking to clinch but Shadow pushes him off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shadow enables Locke to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shadow manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Shadow can't keep his opponent in guard - Locke advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Locke prevents Shadow from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shadow is refusing to be controlled, as Locke sits in half guard.
Shadow pushes Locke off looking to stand but Locke dives back in and keeps control.
Shadow is breathing heavily.
Locke trying to control the action but Shadow is working from the bottom.
Shadow pushes Locke off looking to stand but Locke dives back in and keeps control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Shadow is defending against the submission attempts here by Locke.

Locke seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Shadow is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). John Locke!
