Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Deflatter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Virgil Gonzalez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Deflatter! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzalez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gonzalez showed some decent athleticism there. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Deflatter is controlling Gonzalez's trapped leg to prevent Gonzalez from advancing to side control. Deflatter moves into full guard.
Deflatter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gonzalez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gonzalez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Deflatter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deflatter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gonzalez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Deflatter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gonzalez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez throws a strike but Deflatter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Deflatter tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzalez is retaining full guard. Gonzalez keeping moving, preventing Deflatter from controlling successfully. Gonzalez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Deflatter trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gonzalez is looking to stand back up but Deflatter counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Gonzalez. Gonzalez trying to get back to full guard but Deflatter takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gonzalez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Deflatter. Gonzalez holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Deflatter tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gonzalez is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Deflatter wants to stand but Gonzalez is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Gonzalez trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Deflatter working for a guillotine from mount but Gonzalez is in no mood to give up. Gonzalez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Deflatter. Gonzalez tries to hold on but Deflatter pushes him away. Gonzalez really is a fat lump. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Deflatter has control of Gonzalez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gonzalez regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gonzalez is squirming around, avoiding Deflatter's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Deflatter dominated that round. That's time! Gonzalez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gonzalez shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Deflatter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gonzalez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Deflatter somewhat. Gonzalez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Deflatter avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzalez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Deflatter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gonzalez somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Virgil Gonzalez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gonzalez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Deflatter counters with a straight right hand. Gonzalez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Deflatter counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gonzalez! Gonzalez is trying to improve his position. Deflatter tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Gonzalez tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deflatter advances to mount. Deflatter is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Deflatter jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gonzalez manages to avoid the submission attempt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gonzalez bucks up and tries to throw Deflatter off but instead Deflatter has got his back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gonzalez won't enjoy being in this position. Deflatter looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Gonzalez is tapping - it's over boys! Deflatter picks up the submission victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jimmy Deflatter!
