Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Camel Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Ascanio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ascanio's choice of entrance music: Otis Taylor / Ten Million Slaves. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dante Ascanio!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey misses with an uppercut. Ascanio saw that one coming.
Monkey shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ascanio is trying to defend but Monkey finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ascanio manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Ascanio can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Monkey controls the pace.

Ascanio throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Monkey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ascanio scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Monkey doesn't seem bothered though.
Ascanio ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ascanio lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Monkey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ascanio makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Monkey really felt that one!

A nice inside leg kick there by Ascanio. That's going to slow Monkey down.

and Ascanio counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Monkey dives in for a single leg takedown but Ascanio sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Monkey throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Monkey takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Monkey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ascanio paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Camel Monkey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ascanio connects with a body shot that sends Monkey's belly button to the back.
Monkey lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ascanio slips a jab from Monkey.
Monkey moves forwards but Ascanio connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dante Ascanio seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Monkey throws a lazy right hand but Ascanio sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Monkey misses with an uppercut. Ascanio saw that one coming.
Monkey misses with a lunging right hand
and Ascanio counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Monkey misses with a body shot.
Ascanio fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Ascanio circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ascanio feints and then cracks Monkey's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Monkey down.
Ascanio scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Ascanio tests Monkey's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Monkey is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Monkey wants to clinch.
Monkey rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ascanio finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Monkey tries for a takedown but Ascanio sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ascanio jabs Monkey to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ascanio walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Monkey drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Ascanio swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Monkey's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dante Ascanio!
After winning the bout, Dante Ascanio thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
