The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Maddox. Beautiful body shot.

Fuligni scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Fuligni looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Fuligni is taking a breather. Maddox says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuligni is nestled in close to Maddox, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Fuligni changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maddox looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fuligni feints and as Maddox raises his hands in defense, Fuligni changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fuligni wants to control from the top but Maddox keeps moving.
Fuligni would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fabio Fuligni has got the better of the ground game so far.
Maddox keeping moving, preventing Fuligni from controlling successfully.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Fuligni stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maddox swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Maddox tries to close the distance and clinch but Fuligni swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fabio Fuligni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fuligni throws a leg kick which misses Maddox's front leg but catches the back leg as Maddox tries to avoid it.

Fuligni shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maddox's guard.

Fuligni has gone for a leg lock! Maddox slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fuligni's guard.

Maddox cracks Fuligni with a big right hand but Fuligni just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Fuligni tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maddox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Maddox decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fuligni to his feet.

An inside leg kick from Fuligni misses.

Fuligni closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Maddox did well to prevent Fuligni getting side control.
Fuligni takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fuligni is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Maddox reverses the position - he's now on top in Fuligni's guard.

Fuligni escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maddox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Maddox has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fuligni is proving hard to escape from.
Maddox content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Fuligni working for submissions but it's allowed Maddox to get to half guard.
Maddox is controlling the pace.
Maddox seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fuligni does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Fabio Fuligni.
