Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Mario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chim Skrylvia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chim Skrylvia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Mario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chim Skrylvia!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skrylvia tries to clinch up but Mario circles away and keeps his distance.
Skrylvia throws a series of punches but Mario moves out of range.

Skrylvia forces Mario back against the cage and clinches.
Mario jumps guard but Skrylvia stands there with Mario around his waist. Mario gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Skrylvia can't find room to land a body shot as Mario controls the action.
Skrylvia prevents a takedown attempt there.
Skrylvia tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mario smiles and moves away.
Skrylvia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mario tries to avoid it but Skrylvia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mario to the ground. Mario escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Skrylvia tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mario manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mario darts in looking for a takedown but Skrylvia gets double underhooks and turns Mario into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Mario. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mario tries to pull guard but Skrylvia won't allow it.
Mario is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Skrylvia to keep the fight standing.

Skrylvia's coach down at Brick Brawlers MMA (12 Coaches) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Skrylvia's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Skrylvia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Skrylvia throws a sloppy head kick and Mario moves out of range easily.

Mario drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mario tries to free his leg and advance position but Skrylvia is retaining full guard.
Mario in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mario might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mario postures up in Skrylvia's guard and throws a big left but Skrylvia blocks it.

Mario thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mario has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mario cracks Skrylvia with a solid left hand.
Mario definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Skrylvia looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mario drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mario jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mario passes Skrylvia's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Mario is trying to work for a kimura but Skrylvia is defending well.

Mario is working for a submission of some sort.
Mario missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Mario winds up and cracks Skrylvia with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Mario is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Skrylvia defends it well.

Mario is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Mario works his foot free and advances to mount.
Skrylvia squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Skrylvia is bucking up trying to escape but Mario cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mario tries to control but Skrylvia wriggling away.
Mario fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mario is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Skrylvia is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Skrylvia flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Mario anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Skrylvia and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Mario slips an arm under Skrylvia chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Mario has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Mario is squeezing on Skrylvia like an anaconda would it's prey. Skrylvia fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Mario!
