Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Ferro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Canuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerry Ferro! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Canuto! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferro scores with a jab. Canuto acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Canuto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Canuto has a takedown stuffed. Canuto is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Canuto uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ferro. Ferro misses with a looping left. Canuto shoots in for a double leg but Ferro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jerry Ferro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Canuto. A combination from Ferro does no damage. Canuto shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Canuto was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Canuto prevents Ferro from getting the reversal. Canuto moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ferro has worked his arm free - good work by Ferro!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Ferro is trying to improve his position. Canuto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Canuto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Canuto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ferro, who protects the arm well. Ferro manages to get back to half guard. Canuto is thwarting Ferro's attempts to control the position. Canuto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ferro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Canuto. Canuto looks gassed! Ferro trying to control but Canuto postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ferro manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ferro had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Canuto is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ferro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Canuto's back instead. Ferro looking for the choke from the back. A lull in the action here.
Canuto defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Ferro's arms. Canuto is really stuck here.
Ferro is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Canuto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Canuto is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ferro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ferro has escaped and now he's on top! Ferro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Canuto is proving hard to escape from. Ferro tries to free his leg and advance position but Canuto is retaining full guard. Canuto has his foot on Ferro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ferro works his way back into a safe position though. Canuto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ferro! Canuto prevents Ferro from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Canuto goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ferro turns into him and now he's in Canuto's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Canuto is proving hard to escape from. Ferro decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ferro lands with a nice body punch. Decent striking displayed by Ferro there. Ferro with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jerry Ferro dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice uppercut lands for Ferro. That snapped Canuto's head back.
Ferro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jerry Ferro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ferro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ferro scores with a jab to the jaw. Canuto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A punch combination from Ferro misses. Ferro takes a swing at Canuto's ribcage but misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Canuto. Jerry Ferro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Canuto. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ferro lands a lovely overhand right. Canuto takes one to the chin there. Ferro scores with a shot to the body.
Canuto is breathing heavily. Canuto shoots for a takedown but Ferro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferro jabs Canuto right on the nose. Canuto blinks but takes it well. Ferro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ferro scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Canuto takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ferro scores with a sloppy right hand. Canuto should have avoided that one. Ferro tests Canuto's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ferro thuds a left hand into Canuto's body. Ferro thuds his right hand into Canuto's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Ferro looks to score with a jab to the body but Canuto is just out of range. Canuto fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ferro sprawls well initially but Canuto persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ferro trying to control from the bottom.
Canuto has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferro sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Canuto tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ferro knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Canuto is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Canuto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Canuto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ferro is trying to keep Canuto in close.
Canuto slips nicely into half guard. Ferro wants to get back to his feet. Canuto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ferro defends it well. Ferro trying to hold on to Canuto's head to control him but Canuto postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Canuto seems to be working for a kimura but Ferro defends the submission attempt. Ferro wants to control but Canuto is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ferro is trying to stand.
Canuto is trying for a kimura here. Ferro looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Canuto wins by kimura!
