Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wichael Mood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Israel Whetu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whetu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gunz for Hire - The Massacre. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wichael Mood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Israel Whetu! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Hemmingworth and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mood fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Whetu avoids it really well and circles away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Whetu has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Whetu swats away the attempt to clinch by Mood. Whetu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Whetu instigates a clinch. Whetu lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Whetu lands a hook to the side of the head. Whetu is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mood can't fight it off and eventually Whetu manages to take the fight to the floor. Mood looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mood can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whetu controls the pace. Let's hope that Whetu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Whetu wants to pass the guard but Mood is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whetu preventing the sweep. Mood can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whetu controls the pace.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Israel Whetu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Whetu rushes Mood and presses him up against the cage. The referee calls for Whetu to work.
A short uppercut from Whetu. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Whetu takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Whetu lands a hook that snaps the head of Mood backwards. The referee calls for Whetu to work.
Mood is looking to take this one to the mat. Whetu using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

It looks like Wichael Mood has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whetu scores with a shot to the side of Mood's head. Whetu tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
We've been hearing reports that Mood has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Whetu using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Mood is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mood is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wichael Mood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Whetu stalling.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Whetu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Whetu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mood moves out of range of the strikes. Whetu walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Mood drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Whetu swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Mood's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Israel Whetu! A relieved looking Israel Whetu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
