5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Kung! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamas loads up on a big right hand but Kung slips the punch. We've been told by Lamas's head coaches at WarZone Training Facility 2 that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lamas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kung.
Lamas shoots in for a takedown but Kung shows good takedown defense. Lamas gets caught napping as Kung dives in and scores a takedown. Lamas manages to retain guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kung is pushing down on Lamas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lamas is fighting to maintain full guard but Kung has managed to sneak the leg through. Lamas wants to improve his position but Kung is controlling well.
Kung is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lamas defends it well. Kung seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lamas holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Kung trying to control the pace. Lamas wants to get back to full guard. Kung not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kung is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lamas! Kung moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lamas has worked his arm free - good work by Lamas!
Kung is looking to take a break and control but Lamas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kung controls the position from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kung trying to control the action but Lamas is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kung working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Lamas is trying to get back to half guard. Kung is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lamas is trying to escape and Kung transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lamas is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kung! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Stefan Kung! A relieved looking Stefan Kung thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
