Dantes's entrance music is We Lie, We Cheat, We Steal. A fine choice. Riviere is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Le Vagabond. Edmond Dantes could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jean Riviere's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dantes checks a leg kick nicely.
Riviere dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dantes loads up on a big right hand but Riviere slips the punch.
Dantes blocks a low kick nicely.
Riviere misses with a wild body shot.
Dantes goes for a double leg but Riviere avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Riviere continues to drive forward.
Dantes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Riviere lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dantes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dantes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Dantes dives in for a single leg takedown but Riviere sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dantes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Riviere throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and Riviere counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jean Riviere is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dantes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Riviere misses with a few strikes there.
Dantes ducks right into an uppercut from Riviere.
Riviere throws a quick inside leg kick.
Riviere walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dantes checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dantes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Riviere has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
A decent looking cross lands there for Riviere.
Dantes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Riviere was covering up waiting for the punch and Dantes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Riviere trying to keep a closed guard but Dantes is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jean Riviere dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Riviere smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Riviere scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Riviere throws out a leg kick but Dantes moves out of range and Riviere only half commits.
Riviere takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dantes throws a series of punches but Riviere moves out of range.
Riviere lands a nice hook to Dantes's body. Dantes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dantes is looking to clinch but Riviere is avoiding it.
A combination from Dantes does no damage.
Riviere lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dantes's sensitive parts.
Dantes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dantes breaks from the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Riviere fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dantes on the side of the head.
Dantes shoots in for a takedown but Riviere shows good takedown defense.

Dantes tries to clinch up.
Riviere throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dantes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Riviere cracks Dantes with an open hand slap.
Jean Riviere seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Riviere moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Riviere bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dantes's head.
Dantes is rocked!
Dantes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Riviere.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Riviere, right into the meat.
Riviere's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dantes under the eye.
Oh Dantes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jean Riviere seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Dantes is holding his hands too far apart here. Riviere throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Dantes is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
