Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brad Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Belingon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brad Shaw!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Belingon!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belingon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Shaw throws a hook to the side of Belingon's head but Belingon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Horrible takedown by Shaw or perhaps it was just good defense by Belingon which made him look bad.
Belingon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shaw.
Shaw throws out a loose jab but Belingon uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shaw misses with an uppercut.
Shaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Belingon moves away.
Belingon moves out of range of the strikes.
Shaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Belingon pinned against the cage. Belingon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Belingon counters with a good low kick that Shaw was not able to check.
Shaw has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Island Top Team in the buildup to the fight.

Belingon moves out of range as Shaw strikes.
Shaw throws a low kick but Belingon moves out of range easily.
Shaw tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Belingon is able to avoid easily.

Belingon takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Shaw tries to advance to mount but Belingon denies him.
Belingon avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shaw.
Shaw cracks Belingon with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Shaw misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Belingon bucks up and tries to throw Shaw off but instead Shaw has got his back!
Shaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Belingon is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Shaw off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

We're going to have a standup here because Brad Shaw wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shaw. Belingon does a little dance to reset his feet.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shaw lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Belingon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Belingon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Shaw shoots in looking for a takedown. Belingon tries to sprawl out of it but Shaw keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belingon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brad Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belingon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shaw.

Shaw throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Belingon as he avoids it easily.
Shaw throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Shaw takes a swing at Belingon's ribcage but misses.
Shaw throws a jab but it's blocked by Belingon.
Belingon moves out of range of the strikes.
Shaw goes for a double leg but Belingon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Belingon continues to drive forward.

A frustrated look appears on Shaw's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Shaw is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Shaw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belingon keeps working.

Well Shaw has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
