Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnathan Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnathan Rhodes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Davis! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rhodes fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rhodes throws a head kick but Davis moves out of range.
Rhodes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Davis was covering up waiting for the punch and Rhodes finishes the takedown easily into guard. Davis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rhodes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rhodes's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rhodes won't allow Davis to sweep him here. Rhodes scoring with punches to the head and body. Davis being controlled here, momentarily. Rhodes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Davis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Davis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Davis! Rhodes is not content to let Davis control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rhodes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Davis's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Rhodes pushes Davis off looking to stand but Davis dives back in and keeps control.
Davis is looking to take a break and control but Rhodes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rhodes works his way to full guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rhodes's guard. Davis is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis is taking a breather. Rhodes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Rhodes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rhodes. Davis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Rhodes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rhodes can't keep his opponent in guard - Davis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Davis is looking to take a break and control but Rhodes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Davis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rhodes haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Davis content to control rather than advance. Rhodes wants to improve his position but Davis is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rhodes looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rhodes kicks Davis off and gets back to his feet. Davis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rhodes tries to kick Davis off but Davis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Rhodes scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Davis manages to mount him!
Rhodes is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rhodes is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dan Davis will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Davis clinches up against the cage. Rhodes breaks from the clinch.
Rhodes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice jab there from Davis.
It looks like Johnathan Rhodes has been cut. Rhodes misses with a few strikes there.
Davis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rhodes did well to prevent Davis getting side control.
Rhodes is rocked! Davis is figuring out what he wants to do next. Oh Rhodes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rhodes pushes Davis off but Davis dives into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davis gets to mount! Rhodes was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. A big strike lands for Davis! That's really hurt Rhodes and he's turned his back - Davis keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Davis jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Davis!
