The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liverbird looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kendrick is fending him off so far but Liverbird persists. Nope, Kendrick circles away and we're back to standing.
Liverbird gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kendrick counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Kendrick decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Liverbird's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Liverbird had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kendrick defends it easily.
Liverbird escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kendrick gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kendrick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Liverbird. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Liverbird quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kendrick has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Liverbird celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
