Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Davis Davies! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aadilou Ankutse! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davies tests Ankutse's chin there with a solid looking shot. Davies gets caught flat footed, as Ankutse shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Ankutse looking to pass the guard. Davies looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ankutse wants to control from the top but Davies keeps moving. Ankutse working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ankutse pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davies is keeping the position for now. Davies working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ankutse. Ankutse is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ankutse trying to control but Davies is working from the bottom. Ankutse drops back, looking for a kneebar! Davies looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Davies looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Ankutse tries to lock up and control but Davies gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Davies lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Ankutse has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Davies landing punches. Ankutse tries to get back to half guard but can't. Davies looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Davies is working for a guillotine from mount but Ankutse frees his head quite easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ankutse wants to hold on but Davies pushes him away. Davies lands a big elbow. Ankutse manages to regain half guard. Good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ankutse wants to improve his position but Davies is controlling well.

But Ankutse has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ankutse! Ankutse stopping the sweep attempt from Davies. This has been an exciting period of action! Davies seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ankutse does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. A telegraphed right hand from Davies misses the target. Davies throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ankutse shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davies's guard. Ankutse wants to control from the top but Davies keeps moving. Ankutse working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Davies controls Ankutse momentarily but Ankutse frees himself. Ankutse loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Davies looking for a sweep. Not yet Davies, not yet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davies is on top in guard.

Aadilou Ankutse showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Davies. Ankutse jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Davies is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Davies and Ankutse has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Davis Davies just wasn't active enough. Davies tries to work over Ankutse's front leg with a kick but Ankutse checks it. A looping hook to the body misses from Davies. Ankutse does a little dance to reset his feet. Ankutse uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Davies.

Davies gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ankutse pushes down on Davies's leg and manages to get into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ankutse is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davies sees it coming and defends easily. Davis Davies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Davies gets full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Aadilou Ankutse comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ankutse winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
