These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Mbugua! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mbugua connects with a looping right hand.
Nice shot lands for Mbugua. Mbugua has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mbugua lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ribeiro or not. Mbugua lands a nice knee to the body. Ribeiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mbugua connects with a knee to the head.
Ribeiro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mbugua smiles and moves away.
Ribeiro looks to clinch and Mbugua holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Mbugua breaks from the clinch.
Mbugua has Ribeiro up against the cage in a clinch.
Mbugua prevents the takedown attempt.
Mbugua using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Mbugua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ribeiro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Ribeiro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mbugua circles away from the clinch attempt and Mbugua counters with a three punch combo that has Ribeiro backing up. Ribeiro nods at Mbugua to acknowledge the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Mbugua! Ribeiro is out on his feet! Mbugua rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Ribeiro is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Ribeiro is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
